Developed out of a passion for adventure motorcycling, the Kaoko™ light long-range fuel tank is available specifically for the BMW R1100GS, BMW R1150GS and the BMW R1150GS Adventure. This high tech tank is South African designed, and manufactured to standards typically used in the Aircraft Industry.

In September 2002 in the Kaokoland region of Namibia, extensive trials were conducted on three prototype tanks.

Kaokoland was chosen as a test ground because of its vast diversity in terrain necessary to extensively test the main design criteria. By all accounts, they performed superbly. Because of these very successful trials, the tank is aptly named the “Kaoko™” long-range tank.

As a point of interest, the word Kaoko is Herero in origin, and refers to the vast and beautiful mountainous wilderness that is home to the Himba Tribe.
